This morning, we welcomed the Minister for Education Mr Peter Weir (MLA) to St. Joseph's.
We also welcomed NI Commissioner for Children & Young People, Mrs Koulla Yiasouma; CCMS Head of Education, Mrs Gillian McGrath; MLA for Mid-Ulster, Ms Linda Dillon; and our EA Link Officer, Mr Jarlath McGill.
During his visit, the Minister had the opportunity to see first-hand the school's facilities and the road-safety issues associated with the school site. During a presentation in the school canteen, Mr Meenagh highlighted his concerns regarding the ongoing challenges presented by a lack of adequate facilities at the school's current locality.
Mr Stephen Eustace and Mr Kevin Marshall from Microsoft Education Ireland joined the meeting remotely to congratulate the school on their innovative use of technology to support all learners during the recent lockdown.
The Minister was then taken on a guided tour of the Glenbeg site, including a visit to Paddington Playgroup and a viewing of the Community Centre's extensive facilities.
